Paris Food Reviews

I am in Paris which is very famous for its food.  All these foods are famous for being amazing in Paris: escargot, baguettes, croissants, foie gras and frog legs.

First, there is Bon Pêcheur or, in English, the Good Fisherman. It surprisingly is not a seafood restaurant. I had a rib steak and I asked for it medium rare. Five minutes later my mom’s salad and my steak came out. It was super quick. When I cut into the steak it was certainly not medium rare. It was cooked way less than medium rare. So my mom searched up the all the ways you order your French steak. It turns out there are all these weird things. So there was just a misunderstanding. I took a bite and it was delicious so despite it not being medium rare it was super good. On the American scale it was probably rare, which is my brother Shefler’s favorite. I see why he likes it. I would give Bon Pêcheur a 6 chickens.

After our first day at the American church we went to a nice bakery. I forgot what it was called. It was very good I got a croissant and a pain au lait. The croissant was very good and only the second time I had had one in Paris. The best part of it was the texture it was very hard on the outside and very soft and light on the inside. Then I dug into my pain au lait. It looked liked a shiny small baguette. It turned out to be a sweet plain bread, which reminded me of the Swiss cuchaules. I really liked it. But I don’t see why it’s lait which means milk.  Not to mention I had a mango passion fruit juice which was very good. It was almost like a smoothie. French bakeries are as good as they say they are.

Next and a conveniently quick walk right down our street, Cafe Du Centre It is a classic Paris outdoor cafe and a pretty standard menu. I got rib steak a point which on the American standard is rare. The cut that they used was top of the line. It was also cooked exactly to a point and I was happy about that because every resturant treats me like an unsophisticated kid and gives me medium which I do not like at all. My Mom got the Farmer salad and she says her favorite part about it is the Camembert toast. I would give it 6 chickens and bonus points for actually giving me the steak the way I ordered it.

My favorite food in paris was my chocolate cake at the resturant on the last day. The menu said chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. When I got it, it was ten times better than I thought it would be. It was a small chocolate cake surrounded with a pool of custard and on the top of the cake a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I started with the vanilla ice cream. It was the best ice cream I have ever had.I don’t know how to describe it. The texture was very good. The flavor was very Vanilla-y. Then I dug into the chocolate cake. I dipped it in the custard and gobbled it all up. The custard was a classic custard and pretty standard. But the chocolate cake amazing. It was a darker chocolate which made it better with the custard. And it also had some crunchy chocolate chips it it. It was not burnt at all but a little undercooked which I think was on purpose because it gave the cake a nice squishy texture to it but it was only  like that on the inside so it played as a filling.

Paris does have very good food. it is the home of steaks as far as I’m concerned. The outdoor cafes are as good as they are told to be and along with Paris being the home of steak it is the home of bread.
