So Yew Nork *cough* New York is supposed to have good food eh? Well food critic Rainier Carl is off to see if that is true.
First Zabar’s. I would give them a 5 rating out of 6. Don’t get me wrong it was delicious but there was one big problem if you wanted topping on your bagel it had to be refrigerated, pre made and packaged bagel or you could get yours toasted and spread on the spot but then you don’t get toppings which really disappointed my mom 🙁 . But my bagel was the best bagels I have ever had and it was so good they toasted it perfectly and they put on tons of sesame seeds 🙂 🙂 :).
Next Don Giovanni’s Pizza with 5 ½ chickens the pizza was done very well the crust was amazing everything was delicious. So you’re probably wondering why I took away ½ of a chicken they did not have green peppers they only have red peppers there is a difference, taste different I don’t know how to describe it but there is a difference not just the color. But when I mention that the color does matter. Also the color combos normally a more wide span of colors which make it more interesting.
Next with an outstanding 6 chickens, and a Guinness world record for every chicken Serendipity 3! OMG it is crazy nothing makes sense everything is crazy #footlonghotdogs. Or how about my french toast, when I was looking out for our food I saw something that looked like super fancy crazy cake and nothing like french toast well guess what that was the french toast it was soooo good. So you’re probably wondering what the world records are well they are for price. First the golden Opulence Sundae, the most expensive sundae in the world for $1000 dollars this is the only one that I read about and this is just the basic idea. So edible gold flakes, sweet caviar some really fancy ice cream and you get to keep some crystal chalice. And you get to eat with a gold spoon. Then there’s some $25000 desert of some sort. The worlds most expensive hotdog #footlonghotdogs with a ton of crazy stuff on it for about $75. And I forget what the other ones were and I found nothing helpfull on google.
Lastly, Momofuku Milk Bar with 6 chickens. It was my moms dream to go ever since she got the cookbook. She is this crazy chef that is well known for cereal milk, after you eat all the cereal in a bowl the milk absorbs some of the cereal flavor, well I guess like me she loved that flavor to. I got the Crunchy Cereal Milk Shake it was very good and captured the perfect flavor but most importantly it had chunks in it.
Not to my suprise New York is food central. And one of the things that powers that is the large range of cultures in New York. Be back for QM2 food.
Bun this looks great! Love the BD pic of Yubbs. Is that cake purple?!?!?
I love Milk Bar, too. I miss your mom’s cakes from there. Sigh! Love you, Bun!
I am amazed at your reviews. At your age I would never have been able to write such fun and accessible reviews. After reading these I wanted a bagel with sesame seeds at Zabars and an opportunity to visit that milk bar and just take in the range of the menu.
You should absolutely go to Momofuku and Milk Bar when you next visit NYC. A bit irreverent, but good food.
Move over Zagat. Rainier is on your right and moving up fast.
I agree with you about red and green peppers having different tastes. But I would have been happy that there were no green peppers. Great reviews.
